objective: To compress a straw so that it is standing straight up and forces are pushing downward onto it. First we built a 4 walled stablizer and then proceeded to add flat wood squares to the top and bottom of the straw for support. We then added weighs to the top of the structure until we found the straws breaking point which was about 24 ounces.
