Examples of compression are simply a foundation on a house. The weight of the house pushes down on the foundation, but the ground is keeping it up. The exiperment that was done in class was the an example of compression to. In class we tested how much weight paper that is rolled into a tube and a straw can hold.We had made weightsto push down on the paper or straw.

Another exmaple of compression is gravity. The gravity pushes down on everything and all objects.

These two pictures are examples of compression because a force is pushing down on the ballon and the rectangle object and another force is pushing the opposite way. The ballon and the rectangle change there shape because of the amount of force pushed on them.
